Playing for a Big Win

Lets face it, we all dream of walking over to the dice table with $40 and walking away with a couple thousand. It happens sometimes, yes. But it's pretty rare. The way most people try and make this happen is the traditional way, that is betting the pass line and making place bets and getting on board with a hot shooter that hits a few hardway bets and yo-11's along the way. Every dedicated craps player has a story about when this kind of thing happened, but many of them go broke chasing the dream trying to replicate the experience.

In this craps system we are going to forget about all the fluff and go straight for the meat. It's either going to happen or it isn't so let's put the money on the big payout. When you hear stories about that one hot shooter that made somebody a truckload of money, they almost always tell you about the multiple hardway bets that got hit during the run. For the person telling this story, all that did was add to their win a little - because most likely they only had a chip or two on those bets when they hit.

Not us. We are going to put some real money on the high-odds bets and then let it ride. You heard me. Are you going to win? Probably not. But if you do it is going to be glorious, and it really isn't all that farfetched of an event. You just need to stumble into the right time and right place. So what you are looking for is a table that has a certain feel.

That may sound a bit ludicrous for a system, but it works. A craps tables is definitely something that has a certain feel to it. You can get a feeling when you walk by one. You can feel the mood of it and hear what kind of chatter is going on. Before working this system, try and locate a table that has a good feel. But not an already hot-table, because that is due to end. What you want is a table that feels like it is just warming up.

When you locate such a table, here is what you need to do:

1. Wait for a new shooter who feels like they have good energy to roll a 6 or an 8 on the come-out roll.

2. When/if they establish the 6 or 8 as the point, make a hardway bet for that number for a significant amount. For most of us recreational gamblers $10 is about right. I like to do it with $20.

3. If you lose the bet try it one more time, or if you get a certain vibe just leave and try it again later.

4. If you win that bet, tell the dealer to parlay the hardway bet. Now, they are going to look at you a little weird, because you just won $100 or $200 and are recklessly gambling it here. Be prepared for that.

5. They will want to know whether it is off on the come-out roll or working. The choice is up to you and it doesn't really matter, but I like to make it off on the come out roll. (If they happen to roll another hardway of that same number when you told them to make it off on the come out roll, take the bet down and go to the bar to drown your sorrows.) When the bet is off they can roll a seven or two like a lot of hot shooters will do before establishing the next number, and you are there for the ride.

6. If they roll the other 6/8 as their next number, switch the hardway bet to that number. If it is a different number, just let it stay in place.

7. If they roll the hardway again, do the happy dance all the way to the cage. You just stung them for $1,000 or $2,000 and it is time to celebrate.
